Guided Tours:

The Montana Historical Society Education Office is providing guided tours of the State Capitol Monday-Saturday from 10:00AM-2:00PM with the last tour starting at 1:00. Public tours conclude for the season on September 15th.

Self-Guided Tours:

A free booklet with a self-guided tour is available at the Information/Security Desk on the first floor. Visitors are welcome to wander the halls with the booklet seven days a week, whenever the building is open to the public.

Group Tours:

    To book a group tour:

  • Call at least two weeks ahead of time at (406) 444-4789.
  • Be prepared to tell us the dates you’d like to come, your time and schedule preferences for that day, and the size group you are bringing.

Virtual Tours

You'll be able to navigate through the various rooms of the Capitol, seeing the paintings and stained glass as they actually are in the rooms.
